Tuesdays at FourNow appearing at the new La Tazza Restaurant in Pagosa
Springs next to City Market Tuesdays at Four is four this week! (Four weeks old at the new La Tazza restaurant in Pagosa Springs, that is.) And it seems to be growing a really groovy gang of music and fun lovers. Besides the straight- ahead jazz of the Tuesdays at Four quartet (Dan Fitzpatrick, Gerry Riggs, Joe Gilbert, and the “professor” John Graves), there’s the ambiance, the excellent food and drink, the chance to visit with friends, and even an invitation to “trip the light fantastic” to your favorites from the big band era on the dancing area in front of the band. And, there’s always the added attraction of the unexpected! Last week we had songs by guest artists Pam Novack and Jim Horky. On opening night (afternoon), Pagosa’s incredible drummer, D.C. Duncan, sat in with the band before his own gig. Who knows who might show up next week? (I don’t think Elvis knows our repertoire.) Tuesdays at Four (the quartet) appears at La Tazza (the restaurant) every Tuesday (the day) at four (the hour). They play until six, after which they dine on La Tazza’s fine fare. They’d love to see you there! ____________________________ Ode to Tuesdays at Four________ Pagosa’s new restaurant, La Tazza, It’s straight-ahead jazz from an era From four to six is the time frame As dear old Bob Barker, would say, _______________________________

“Mirthful Musical Mementos” marked the release
of Graves’ new CD,
“Where in the World is Home?”
Featuring the piano artistry of Graves and a bevy of entertainers, “Mirthful Musical Mementos” was a trip down memory lane with old-fashioned, nostalgic music from a bygone era. Performing with Graves were Larry Elginer, Sally Yates, Anna Hershey, Debbee Tucker, Johnny K (from L.A.), Deb Aspen, Charles Jackson, Matthew Lowell, Tiffany Brunson, Pam Novak, June Marquez, Dan Fitzpatrick, Joe Gilbert, Carla and Paul Roberts and Tuesdays At Four.
Graves has a large following of enthusiastic fans who avail themselves every opportunity to see him perform. Accompanied by the large, talented group of entertainers, this concert provided an ideal format for Graves to exercise his characteristic wit, wisdom and musical sensibilities. Only in Pagosa will you see a community concert headed up by the man who supervised Bonanza, I Dream of Jeannie, Ironside, The Man From Uncle, Then Came Bronson, The Debbie Reynolds Show, The Monkees; and who accompanied such singers and performers as George Burns, Jimmy Durante, Redd Fox, Rudy Vallee, Rosemary Clooney, and June Christy; and who played at private parties for Judy Garland, Groucho Marx, Danny Thomas, John Wayne and Jack LaLanne - to to name just a few of his accomplishments.
Last March John Graves presented "The History of Jazz", a lecture demonsration in the 2007 series entitled "The Joy of Music", produced by Elation Center for the Arts in Pagosa Springs, CO.

A special New Years Eve event with John on the Jazz piano
and a fantastic group of players.
“John Graves and Company” is a quartet
of distinguished musicians, who not only excel as instrumentalists, but
also as singers and entertainers.
Trumpeter Larry Elginer supplemented his
career as high school music teacher, band, orchestra, and choral conductor by
playing private parties and events with many of the finest musicians and groups
in the Los Angeles area. He is now the co-conductor of the Pagosa Springs Community
Choir and Jazz Ensemble.
Bassist Susanna Ninichuck has played and sung with bands
of all sizes and styles. She also plays a number of other instruments, including
keyboard, drums, trumpet and tuba. Also on her resume are stints as a Hollywood
stunt woman, actress, choreographer, director, and teacher of a course on opera
history.
Drummer Kim Graves joined the Los Angeles
Professional Musicians Union when he was eleven years old. He played
with his dad, John, and other leaders at private parties all through
his high school and junior high years. While attending college he worked
in some big bands which often accompanied celebrity stage shows. He is
now an airline pilot living in Phoenix.
Keyboard
player John Graves’ main career was in the televison and
film industries, but he has always played several nights a week, or between
film assignments, as a single pianist, side man, or band leader. He has
played private parties for Judy Garland, Groucho Marx, Danny Thomas,
and John Wayne. He has recorded, been a staff pianist at KLAC-TV and
on the first Betty White show, and has accompanied such artists as George
Burns, June Christy, Helen O’Connell, Rosemary Clooney, Rudy Vallee,
Redd Foxx, Arthur Duncan, and Jimmy Durante.
