John Graves Family Page

Ann Graves

Wife Ann graduated from Occidental College in Southern California, and after a brief career in advertising, went back to work there for 17 years as secretary to the Political Science Department, where she proved herself invaluable as an editor and proof-reader. After moving to Missouri with her new husband, John, she joined the Medical Records Department at Western Missouri Medical Center. Her son, Jason, is a builder in Southern Californa and her daughter, Mare, is manager of Isabel’s, Pagosa’s finest restaurant.

Kerry Graves

Daughter Kerry Graves appeared at age eight as a dancer in an NBC Television Network variety show. She has excelled in every area of her diverse talents, which include singing, dancing, acting, directing, and teaching. After a career that ranged from performances in college and university shows, theaters of all kinds, a top forty band, television, and several Disneyland venues, she went back to school and obtained a Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan State and her Ph. D. from Texas Tech. She is now an Associate Professor of Theatre at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Dr. Graves and her husband Geoff, also a professor, live in nearby Manchester.

Kim Graves
Son Kim Graves joined the Los Angeles Professional Musicians Union when he was eleven years old. He played drums with his dad and other leaders at private parties all through his school years. He is now an airline captain living in Phoenix with his wife Sandi and son Davis. Sandi is an accomplished singer, guitarist, and performer, and has recently become an outstanding water color artist. Their son, Taylor, a musician and song writer, lives in Tuscon, Arizona. At one point they had a family band called Boot Hill (“Four Graves on a Rise”). Occasionally we’ve all worked together as The Graves Family Band, as when we did a Christmas CD called “Christmas in July,” which we recorded in Phoenix when it was 109 degrees.
